Foot Aromatherapy For Troubled Feet

Aromatherapy is a popular way to help treat a variety of health and physical ailments.

By applying essential oils to the feet — either directly or via a foot bath — your body is able to absorb them quite quickly and effectively.

The feet are parts of the body which are capable of absorbing herbal and essential oil remedies. For additional benefit, you can also use reflexology of the foot to aid in lung and sinus complaints.”

How To Apply Essential Oils To Feet

When applying essential oils directly to the feet, you need to first choose a carrier in which to mix your essential oils.

Pure vegetable oils like olive, safflower, and sesame work especially well.

For every 1 tablespoon of carrier oil you use, you’ll want to add 3 to 5 drops of essential oils.

For foot baths, the following carriers work especially well: vegetable oil, honey, cream, milk, bath salts, and Castile lotion. Or, you could simply add the essential oils directly onto a bath mitt or washcloth.

Basically, any of the essential oil recipes that you come across which can be applied directly to your skin (via hand lotions, massages, baths, and rubs) can also be applied to your feet — in a similar manner.
