Tiddies Are In! Check Out These Fun Sandals
I don't know what it is about me and cool sandal-y kinds of footwear lately.
I mean, I don't have a very large shoe collection, nor a foot fetish (...though I've been told my feet are quite nice).
Still, I keep finding myself attracted to novel, one-of-a-kind sandals lately.
First... the whole Flip Flop thing.
Then... the Crocs (a.k.a. "Bonnaroo shoes")
Now... I just discovered that Tiddies are in!
My latest fascination is with Tiddies... another "retro" slip-on shoe that's in a class of its own.
(By the way, the company's not officially allowed to call them that anymore, here's why.)
Nevertheless, I can appreciate the years of hard work and dedication that Kevin Bruce Brown has devoted to this shoe.
"This is the simple but true version of why I am now a PIRATE SANDAL MAKER.
I continue to hand make soft foam sandals, true to the original TIDDIES sandal theme, here in Texas."

By the way, these fun sandals have also come to be known as "summer camp shoes" or "pirate shoes". Regardless of what you call 'em, they're some seriously cool shoes!
They have 2-layer sandals, 3-layer sandals, and for those who don't like it between the toes, there's a brand new slip-on sandal design.
- These one- two- and three-layer sandals have tough bottoms, soft tops and squishy middles combined with natural latex tubing straps.
- The straps are adjustable ...and replaceable!
- They come in a wide variety of colors.
- These sandals are completely waterproof.
My only remaining question... do they float?
(...cuz we all know I need some floaters when I'm out & about.)
"Pirate brand sandals are permitted by most School District Dress Codes and are acceptable in all summer camp programs that we know of: Summer camp counselers become our best salespeople during the summertime becase the kids see them in these cool sandals - and who would want to wear hot, stuffy old tennis shoes in the middle of the Summer?"
And, just for nostalgia's sake...
so you can see what the original Tiddies sandals looked like:
These belong to cylitch who is selling her Tiddies on eBay.
www.mytiddies.com is where you can get REAL Tiddies Sandals. Check it. It's legit. The factory is located 3612 Mangum Rd. STE 108, Houston, Tx 77092. I went to the factory and they made me my own CUSTOM pair of tiddies. You can't get custom anywhere besides the factory. AND I got to take a tour of the factory. It was a really fun experience to watch my shoes be made. Pirate Brand Sucks. I went to a store in Galveston and saw Pirate Brand on a rack, and they were dusty and old and looked like they'd been sitting there for a year.. If your looking for an original soft experience, Tiddies is the only way to go. mytiddies.com/admin

For the real tiddies go to mytiddies.com, the real thing.
Yes we can do a size 14! In fact, I happen to wear that same size. I always recommend the triple layer, which is $39.99 for the extended sizes - but we can also do a dual layer for $34.99. Just click through to our website (www.piratesandals.com) and you can order from the main page.
Thanks for your interest in these terrific sandals!

I need help. I wear a size 14 and haven't had Tiddies since I was in college.
Can you do it and if so, how much? Not certain if I wouold go with the triple now, possibly the double foam since I'm so old.
Nese, yes, the style has been updated. Kevin introduced this new design in 1987 to compete with the company ran by his ex-wife - and it was a success because he ran her out of business by the early 90's. When she re-surfaced, she promptly switched to the design Kevin introduced and called it her own.
It is great to have the support of so many people that remember Kevin Brown and the sandals he invented. That is the one thing that the lawyers and judges can't take from him: Kevin and Dwight Brown invented Tiddies sandals - the logo, the design, the materials - they did it all. And even after the lawsuit, here in Pasadena Texas when Kevin walks into a restaurant, people come up to him and say hello, calling him the "Tiddies man"!
Kevin now owns and operates Piratesandals.com where he sells he updated design based on his original 1973 model that became famous.
I used to hang out at the factory for hours on end back in the day. I noticed the picture here of "what they used to look like", well that's the newer version. If I could I would certainly post a picture of the two pairs I still own from the mid 70's. Good going Kevin!
This sandals were the best I ever owned. I wore them until the straps broke in half, when the company was virtually in non-existence (and therefore could not be replaced). My order will be in ASAP. If you have never had these on your feet, these are a treat! Highly suggest that you run and get a pair!
want to buy tiddies sandals with money order or money gram and where is internet adderess
In 1973-75 I worked at Montgomery Ward in Pasadena, a young lady that worked there showed me these great sandals, saying her boy friend made them. Could this be Margo or Jo Ellen?
My first pair was $4.25 (cash)
