Flask Sandals by Reef... Flip Flops With A Built-In Flask!

dram-reef-sandals-flask.jpg You better hurry and get these sandals while you can!

Word is...you may be required to show ID to purchase these one-of-a-kind sandals in the near future.

Why?

Because these flip-flop are made with a built-in flask that holds 3 ounces of liquid beverage -- per foot.

That measures out to about 4 shots worth of your favorite adult beverage!

These one-of-a-kind Dram Reef Sandals are becoming all the rage on college campuses, among other places.

As an interesting twist... many people are using them to sneak booze into events!

Think about it, just pour an ounce or two of vodka, walk around with a can of Red Bull and no one suspects a thing!

With these sandals, you've just got to talk a couple of friends into wearing a pair of bottle-opener flip flops (which I've talked about before here)... and you got a party on the go!

A friendly reminder from Charlie at Gizmodo:

Just be sure to empty the contents of their internal flasks before placing them on that airport security conveyor belt."

I like to carry my own drink, and wear my timeless cool sandals from KEY WEST SANDAL FACTORY..I would prefer not to blend my rum with feet...Not cool dude!

According to the state statutes, wearing or possessing the flip flop flask constitutes having an "open container", and falls under "open container" laws.
Notices of these flip flops are being sent across the country to law enforcement.
You've just created another money maker for the cops!
Good luck with that!

I saw this on one of the Las Vegas news channels...just curious, who is the maker of these sandals ?

Thanks for the update, Ryan. I've fixed the link in the article that you mentioned.

The original post has a broken link to Reef's Web site...this is the new link:

Thanks for the comment Ryan, I was concerned with how durable the flasks actually were. I really haven't been anywhere with my flip flops on where I can't get booze...

I bought these same sandals about a year ago in hawaii ( navy man ) ive worn them consitently but not every day. As it stands now BOTH flasks are broken, one is missing the cap, and even when they were brand new, they leaked out tons of my booze.... i even experimented with different o-rings to make them work and had nothing but leaks.
cool idea, just a bad design.

Chris

It's actually about 1 oz. a piece. I read this before buying the sandles and was surprised when it poured over the side LOL

Big difference between 2 shots and 6 haha
